A Long Island Iced Tea Cocktail anyone?

A sheltered life I live, I know this, I can confirm it to be true.

Those of you who are a whirlwind of excitement, new experiences and adventures may well mock, but...

When was the last time you were rendered speechless by a mere cocktail?

Exactly!

Tonight I had my first Long Island Iced Tea Cocktail, full of Southern Comfort, Vodka, Gin, Tequila,  Coke and an array of wonderful little extras that had me squealing with delight.

Makes the get together with the girls from work all the more fun (and makes going back on Friday just that little bit more bearable...  Little bit!)

It also helped enormously that the meal was a gift from grateful parents and we didn't have to pay for it!

I'm in a great job!

Be back soon!

  1. I half remember a very messy evening (read can't remember much of the evening, can't forget the morning after) spent on Southern Comfort many years ago ... I haven't been able to touch a single drop of the stuff ever since ... so I'll just have to take your word for it on the Long Island cocktail ;0)

  2. First time for everything - glad you enjoyed it! A Long Island Iced Tea cocktail is supposed to have more spirits in it, including gin and tequila, I think, so you had a low alcohol version! Hope your return to work goes well. xxx

  5. I did a double-take at your heading -- I live on Long Island, the place where this drink was invented and named for. Long Island is land jutting east from NYC. Glad the drink made you squeal!
